Williston Park Tree Lighting

Pack 202 is going to Tree Lighting ceremony on the Sun Dec 3rd at 630 at the Williston Park Village Hall (494 Willis Ave). This will start at 630pm. The whole thing usually ends within an hour.
This is a fun event for the kids, they’ll sing holiday songs and light up the tree. Then Santa Claus will show up, not on a sleigh but with the help of the local fire department. He’ll bring treats and hot chocolates for the kids.

Please make sure to come in uniform since this is a public event that we want to represent ourselves nicely at. The Cub Scouts will stand in a group and sing along with the songs that the town has organized. We don’t know what particular songs they will be, but if you can listen to a few typical holiday songs just so they get a refresher on the words. It’s not about a performance, just a fun time to sing and enjoy the tree.

Other community organizations usually show up to this too, including the girl scouts and the boy scouts and non-scouting groups.  You can park on the street or use the village hall parking lot behind the building. The tree for this is in the front of the village hall, and the kids usually line up on the steps leading to the entrance, with parents and others ready at the sidewalk. It doesn’t take very long and the kids love the hot cocoa at the end.
